About this policy

This policy covers Dogfight, including the Android app (com.berkelium.dogfight), desktop versions, browser version, and the Dogfight website. Dogfight is developed by Michael I. Gold under the name Berkelium. Privacy questions can be sent to [email protected].

Game data on your device

Dogfight does not require an account and does not include advertising or an advertising or analytics SDK. It does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, or device location.

Settings, including your chosen player name and control, graphics, and sound preferences, are stored locally. The app also stores update-check preferences and cached version information. The browser version stores settings in browser storage.

Diagnostic logs or recordings created when diagnostic features are enabled are local files. Dogfight does not automatically upload these files to the developer.

Network connections and multiplayer

The app checks for updates over HTTPS. The website and browser version also request pages, images, and game files. These requests expose ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, request time, requested resource, and client headers, to the hosting provider. Cloudflare hosts the website and downloads and may process technical request information to deliver content and protect the service. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

The website also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure visits and page performance. Cloudflare receives browser-provided information such as page URLs, referrers, browser and device characteristics, and performance measurements for this purpose. This website measurement is separate from the native Android app.

When you use network multiplayer, participating computers exchange your player name, aircraft and game state, scores, and in-game messages. Peers can see network addresses. The legacy multiplayer protocol uses unencrypted UDP broadcast or multicast; use it on networks you trust and avoid putting private information in your player name or messages. This is separate from the HTTPS update and download service.

Support and third-party services

If you contact us, we receive your email address, message, and any files you choose to send, and use them to respond and investigate your report. Send only information you want to share.

Google Play distributes the Android app and may provide the developer with installation statistics and crash or diagnostic reports under Google’s services and your device settings. Google Play, your operating system’s backup services, and external sites you open have their own privacy practices. Dogfight does not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Retention and deletion

Local settings remain until you reset or delete them. On Android, use the system app settings to clear Dogfight’s storage or uninstall the app. For the browser version, clear this site’s browser data. Separately saved logs and recordings must be deleted separately. Device backups may retain app data according to your backup provider’s settings.

Support correspondence is retained as needed to handle the request and related follow-up. You may request deletion by emailing [email protected]. Hosting and distribution providers manage their own technical records under their policies; we do not control records retained by other multiplayer participants.

Children and policy updates

Dogfight does not ask players for their age or intentionally solicit personal information from children. If a child has sent personal information to our support address, a parent or guardian can contact us to request its deletion.

Changes to this policy will appear on this page with an updated date.
